We served as site coordinator, member of the civic design team, and facilitator for the Leadership Institute of North Central Washington, a multi-county leadership development program designed to build civic skills, cross-sector relationships, and community impact across North Central Washington. The program brings together participants from diverse backgrounds—including nonprofits, public agencies, education, healthcare, and grassroots leadership—to strengthen their capacity to lead collaboratively in their communities.
Our role included coordination and facilitation support throughout the program. This involved planning and facilitating in-person sessions, supporting guest speakers, coordinating logistics and accessibility, and creating welcoming learning environments that encouraged trust and relationship-building. We facilitated small- and large-group discussions, supported bilingual engagement as needed, and helped participants translate learning into real-world community projects grounded in local priorities.
The result was a cohesive, well-run experience that supported participant growth, peer connection, and applied civic learning. Participants strengthened their leadership skills, built relationships across differences, and advanced community-based projects with greater confidence and clarity. This work highlights Sage Step Consulting’s experience with program coordination in North Central Washington, helping grow local leaders by building relationships, practical skills, and shared responsibility for community well-being.
